A Delightful Encounter

I met this gorgeous woman at my book signing at Forest Trace  last week. She just moved to Florida  from New York where she worked in the fashion industry for years. She told me that she made her  headband especially for my event and apologized for her missing dentures. She had to have dental surgery and didn't want to let this stop her from coming to the event. I was incredibly moved by this wonderfully talented woman and couldn't wait to share her photo with you all.

When I got this lovely bow tie from my good friend who started making them for a pure pleasure, I instantly knew that I got to paired it with one of my favorite hats. Touch of olive with forever trending black, little bit of studs and gloves to spice things up!

Gunilla Ponten

Ever since my last trip to Stockholm, it has been my dream to photograph 83-year-old design legend Gunilla Ponten. Today my dream came true when Gunilla met me at my hotel armed with bags full of her wonderful accessories. Gunilla has so much energy and was even cooler than I could have ever imagined. I can't wait to share the rest of the shots next week.

I met Elsie during my trip to Florida last week. She just moved to Forest Trace from Canada two months ago. She is absolutely gorgeous both inside and out.

As part of my book presentation at Forest Trace, they put together a wonderful fashion show with some of their residents modeling dresses from Sondro Boutique. Joining the residents in the show was model Susu Smith. Susu has been modeling since the age of 16, and now in her 60s she looks better than ever !!!

I have spent the past three days presenting my work at Forest Trace senior living community in Lauderhill, Florida. This was my first visit to a retirement community, and I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived. After spending a few days with the residents, I discovered that it was an inspiring and vibrant community of active and vital seniors. Beverly, one of Forest Trace's best dressed residents, was born in New York and has been living in the community for over two years. I asked her what her style inspiration was, and she replied, "I love fashion. I have always loved fashion. You get up in the morning and you look in the mirror and you can't ignore what you see. Why not make the best out of what you've got and try to always look your best?"
